Front of house
Foyers, auditoria and circulation
Doors used by the public, where closing, latching and condition affect escape routes and need to be compatible with the venue's management arrangements.
Sector
Venues combine public areas that fill and empty quickly with back-of-house spaces that work hard out of sight. We price and carry out fire door repairs, remedials and replacement for theatres, cinemas and performance venues, planned around the programme of shows and events.
Front of house
Doors used by the public, where closing, latching and condition affect escape routes and need to be compatible with the venue's management arrangements.
Back of house
Doors used by staff and performers, with equipment movement that can damage leaves, frames and closers.
Plant
Doors to plant, electrical and riser spaces that may be kept locked; where those openings are identified as fire doors, they need their own checks.
Storage
Scenery, props and equipment stores where doors can be wedged or obstructed.
Doors with access control, hold-open devices or alarm connections involve more than one trade. Where these are in scope, the quotation should identify each interface and who is responsible for testing it, and the work should be coordinated with the venue's electrical and alarm contractors.
Access windows can be agreed around performances, rehearsals, get-ins and events. Doors on escape routes may need to be completed within a single window, with any temporary arrangements agreed by the venue's responsible person.
A door schedule keyed to the venue's references — location, door type, defect and required action — lets each door be priced and tracked. Our guide to quotations and schedules of rates explains pricing formats. Remedial items are covered by fire door repairs, and new doorsets by fire door installation.
Where included in the quotation, completion records list each door, the work carried out and any outstanding items. See records and close-out. Formal inspections and reports are arranged through a specialist external inspection partner.
Send the fire risk assessment actions or report, door references, photographs and available access windows through our contact form. For other commercial sectors, see commercial fire doors.
