The Brief

The property needed a combination of new fire doors and corrective work to existing doors. Rather than defaulting to wholesale replacement, the scope was agreed door by door: openings where a new doorset was the right answer received one, and existing doors that could be brought back into line were adjusted and remediated instead.

The works were delivered as installation and remedial works against that agreed door-by-door schedule. Parsec Fire Doors does not issue standalone formal inspection reports; where a formal inspection report is required, that is arranged through a specialist external inspection contractor.

Our Approach

  • Scope agreed door by door before works began, so repair and replacement were distinguished on condition rather than assumption
  • 12 new fire doors fitted to the agreed specification for each opening
  • 20 existing doors adjusted and remediated — alignment, closing and sealing faults corrected
  • Works sequenced so each opening was completed and left secure before moving on
  • Making good to surrounding openings and adjacent decorative finishes excluded from Parsec's scope and flagged clearly

During the Works

These photographs were taken during installation, before final making good and decoration. They are not finished, decorated completion photographs — making good to the surrounding openings and adjacent decorative finishes was excluded from our scope and completed separately.

Documentation & Close-Out

On completion, a door-by-door completion schedule was prepared covering the doors installed and the doors adjusted and remediated, and the supporting product documentation for the new doors was retained. That gives the responsible person a clear record of what was done to each door, which is the paperwork that matters when the building's fire risk assessment or a future inspection refers back to the works.

Public Redacted Completion Report

This downloadable extract confirms the recorded scope of the works; the client, exact address and internal door and location identifiers have been removed.

The full private door-by-door report and supporting records are retained by the project parties and are not published.

The Outcome

The building left the programme with 12 new fire doors in place and 20 existing doors adjusted and remediated, each recorded on the completion schedule. Only the doors that genuinely needed replacing were replaced; the rest were corrected, which kept the scope proportionate to the condition of the existing doorsets.
