Fire Doors in Hinckley
Fire door repairs, replacement and new-doorset installation for converted and historic town-centre buildings, offices and shops, and rented homes in Hinckley.
Hinckley is a market town in south-west Leicestershire. If you own or manage an older commercial or former industrial building being converted to flats or offices, or shops, offices or rented homes in and around the town, the routes below set out how we can help.
We carry out fire door repairs, replacement and new-doorset installation that follow a fire risk assessment or fire door report, for owners, landlords, agents and businesses across the town.
Converted Buildings And Changes Of Use
When an older commercial or industrial building is converted into flats or a different use, the fire doors have to suit the new layout: flat entrance doors, stair and lobby doors, and doors to plant and bin stores. Existing doors kept from the previous use are often not evidenced for their new role.
For conversions and refits we install certificated doorsets matched to the fire strategy and hand over the door-by-door record and the manufacturer's product information. Where existing doors are to be kept, we assess whether they can be upgraded to an evidenced standard before recommending replacement.
- New doorsets for flat entrances, stairs and lobbies
- Assessing retained doors before replacing them
- Handover records and manufacturer product information
Historic Town-Centre Buildings
Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council designated the Hinckley Town Centre Conservation Area in April 1986, centred on Castle Street, Regent Street and the area around the Baptist Chapel, and the council lists a number of listed buildings within it. Conservation area status does not on its own mean internal fire door work needs consent; for a listed building, the approach should be agreed with the borough council.
In older premises we plan around existing openings, frames and fabric, and explain where an upgrade, a repair or a new doorset is the better option for each door.
Offices, Shops And Rented Homes
Offices and shops commonly need closers adjusted or renewed, seals replaced and damaged doors on stairs and corridors repaired. Rented homes and shared houses need room and kitchen doors that close and latch reliably.
We do not produce formal fire door inspection reports ourselves. Where a formal inspection is required, it is arranged through our specialist fire door inspection partner; our own site assessment scopes the works only.
- Closers and seals on stair and corridor doors
- Room and kitchen doors in rented and shared homes
- Repairs first, replacement where the door cannot be brought back
